Robert & Nancy Redoutey

Georgetown, TX, USA

A little about me:

I was born in 1951 to Janet and Gerald Redoutey of Livonia, Michigan. 2nd oldest of 5 boys. Twin of Richard. We lived in a modest 3 bedroom home in Livonia through High School. Attended St. Robert's Grade School, Emerson Jr. High, and Franklin High School. Graduated with the class of 69. Attended Ferris State University in 1969, receiving a degree in Applied Science. A short time after graduation I moved out into an apartment, staying in the S.E. Michigan area until 1981. Job positions have included Graphic Arts, Photography, Fast Food Management and Electronics.

I was employed in World Wide Regulatory Compliance for over 19 years at Dell Inc. in Round Rock, Texas from 1991 to 2010. I am iNARTE Certified (International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics.) and a member of the EMC and Product Safety Chapters of IEEE (The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). I have traveled to Taiwan and Korea for Dell, and look forward to additional travel in the future. I have been a licensed Amateur Radio Operator since 1966 and am the holder of an Extra Class Amateur Radio License N5KF. I currently work for Professional Testing in Round Rock, TX, very close to my former employer. My work focus remains in Regulatory Compliance at PTI. My Resume of work experience can be found here.

We are currently living in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home in Georgetown, Texas, just north of Austin. The family (picture-2006) includes my wife Nancy, with one daughter, Jennifer, one granddaughter Skye, and 2 cats, Ziggy and Peaches.  Skye lives with us full time, and is currently in the first grade. Jennifer lives in a nearby city, about 40 minutes away.

Nancy was born and raised in Dearborn Hts, Michigan. Nancy attended Wallaceville Elementary School and graduated from Riverside High School. She has held positions in Accounting, Food Services and in Electronic Assembly for IBM. One of her most recent positions had been at Round Rock Medical Center in the Food and Nutrition Services area, where she was employed for over 8 yrs. Nancy started in August 2005 as the head cook for the Georgetown ISD in the Georgetown High School Cafeteria. She is enjoying holidays and summers off.

Nancy enjoys reading, and spending some time on the computer (a lot on Facebook). Bob and Nancy have also made several trips to Las Vegas, usually with her mom and brother, and enjoys traveling.

We make trips back home to Michigan to visit Bob's Parents in Linden, and 3 brothers, which still reside in the S.E. Michigan area and one in eastern Pennsylvania. Nancy's brother currently lives in Dupont, Washington. In previous years Bob Parents and Nancy's Mom made the trip to Texas. Nancy's mom passed away November, 2010.

Please click on this link for our Vacation 2002 pictures from Murfreesburo, Tennessee. This was a February visit to see Nancy's son Matt and his new baby boy and to visit with his family.

Please click on this link for pictures of our Trip to Australia in January/February 2004. This was a trip of a lifetime. The weather was great, their summer, and lots to see and do. Travel was to 3 cities and surrounding areas, including Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. We have posted 150 of the 500 pictures we took while there. We stayed or traveled with friends we meet through Bob's work, or through his Ham Radio connections.

For 2006 Nancy and Bob took their first cruise, a Cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. This was a great way to relax...and leave the cooking (and driving) to somebody else. The ship held 2000 people with a crew of 800. The ship was the Costa Mediterranea which sails off of Florida in the spring and off of Italy in the summers. You can tell by the pictures we had a great week. Main ports were St. Maarten, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. We spent a lot of time with our friends Peter and Kim from Sydney, Australia whom we had visited 2 years earlier. We are all planning on another cruise, but this time north to Alaska in the summer of 2007.

Bob and his twin brother Rick, along with Nancy and Diane, traveled to the Twins Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio the first weekend of August, 2006. It was very interesting seeing so many "doubles". It was the first time for Bob and Rick to attend. Plans are to attend again in a few years. Click the link, and then the main photo to bring up the albums.

The end of July, 2007 found us sailing from Seattle, Washington up to Juneau, Alaska. It was amazing to see the beautiful scenery and the snow capped hills and mountains, glaciers and so much more. This time we traveled on Holland America and found it to be quite different that the southern cruises, but in late July, the weather in Alaska was perfect, with highs getting into the low 70's, with abundant sunshine. We also enjoyed visiting with our friends from Sydney, Australia. This was the 2nd of at least 3 cruises with our friends Peter and Kim. If you haven't tried a cruise along the Canadian coast from Seattle or Vancouver into the vastness of Alaska, you need to give it a try. There is nothing like it. While on this cruise we won a cruise to the Western Caribbean by the same travel agency, that took place in 2009. When we arrived back in Seattle, we visited with Nancy's brother Jeff and his wife, spending a couple of days at their new house in Dupont.

In February, 2009, we enjoyed a cruise to the Western Caribbean, sailing out of Tampa, Florida. Our only cost was for excursions, and photo's on the ship, as the trip was all complementary of the travel company, Bare Necessities Tour and Travel, out of Austin, TX. We won the trip while on the Alaska cruise, sponsored by the same travel company. Actually this was our 3rd cruise by Bare Necessities. We sailed round trip from Tampa to Key West, Montego Bay and Cozumel with our friends Peter and Kim Vernon from Sydney, Australia. Please visit our web site for some of the great photos taken.
